Anybody have any information on swapping in a T-56? The motor its mounting up to is a 5.8 liter windsor. Before I started dropping cash I was curious if anyone else has done this yet and everything I would need? I tried searching the forums already with no luck. My main reason for wanting to do this is to save fuel on the highway, its a daily driven car.

so you bought a t56 with a 10 spline input shaft?
i think if i would ever do this swap i would go with a 26 spline input and change the clutch setup.

^ Dude do you like anyones car but your own?
cuz the t45 blew up

What did what I posted have to do with liking anyone's cars? I like a lot of members rides on here but that's irrelevant to what we're talking about.

I got my car when i was 17 and like you I didn't have a lot of extra spending money. If my stock T5 had busted like your T45 did I would have looked for the most economical way to fix it, not spending $3500 on a T56 swap. I probably would have picked up a used T5 in good condition and swapped it for my busted one...

it just seems like you dont like the way anybody goes about modifying/aquiring/anything else about their car. no matter what we did, you seem to have a better way it should have been done.

nah it's not like that at all. It just doesn't seem very logical to be 17 years old and have to save money for 6 months to put a trans in your car but if that's what you want then that's awesome, just don't be offended when someone asks why you went with a 10 spline T56 and not a 26 spline, that's all I'm saying.

Ok that makes sense sorry for kinda jumpin on u there
I just wasn't satisfied with 5 gears. The synchros were bad when I bought the car and the guy made up some shit about how that's ford's version of skip shift and I was a dumbass and believed him
I liturally had the car 3 weeks until the t45 locked up on me in the middle of the road. I'm like well that sucked Im gonna get the tranny I want then if I have to replace it anyway
