Looking to buy a SRA 8.8 31 spline with axles... Anyone lookin to sell?

Would prefer local (I'll drive to Indiana, or Shitsburgh, don't really matter just as long as it's not more than 2hrs or so each way) but if we can work out a good deal on shipping I wouldn't mind buying long distance.

Not really looking for IRS, as I don't want to buy another catback, but if you've got a complete swap with 31 splines I may gauge some interest. Thanks fellas

I know of a guy up in Cleveland with a 94-98 length built SRA for $900. May be able to talk him down some. Heres his ad.

I have a built 8.8 here from a 96 Cobra...11,000 mile car..has 3:73 Ford gears, Auburn Pro 31 spline diff, Moser 31 Spline axles, Downs Ford aluminum diff cover, Cobra brakes and a clean housing.... 900.00 for it....440-476-4114

That's exactly what I'm looking for... If I can get him down a little from $900 we'd be golden. And shoot the Cobra brakes would be a nice upgrade :)

No problem. He posts on a BUNCH of Stang sites. He basically buys wrecked or salvage title cars and parts them out. You wouldnt believe the Cobra that came outta. It was involved in Hurricane Sandy. I was going to buy the Transmission but he said it had a little water in it and we know what Salt Water does to metal. Just make sure to inspect it THOROUGHLY under the cover to make sure there is no corrosion goin on.

Yeah itll bolt right up. The width is shorter than the 99-04 rear ends but the Terminator crowd seems to favor the 94-98 Length Rears now. If anything, you might have to run a 1" spacer.

Right because you can probably run wider tires on them no? That's badass tho they're only .75" shorter so really a 1" spacer would sit perfect on the 10.5's. Yeah I see it's a Sandy victim I found one of his posts. Didn't say Auburn diff in the post but then again it was his main one where he listed a ton of shit and pix. I'll have the guy pop it open before I go ahead with it. I'd rather replace the fluids than to get it home and find out it's junk. Hope the water didn't damage it too much

He posted pics of the engine with the oil pan off. I doubt its hurt at all. He said he had it running and it sounded fine. He said the water only got up to the shifter. He knows me from a couple diff websites. Doesnt "KNOW" me but will know if you say Chris91 the guy interested in the trans sent me your link.

Well mods you can shut her down... Less than 24hrs after I began my search I got what I was looking for. Big thanks to chris91 for sending me in the right direction in no time at all.

I ended up with this...

It's from a 98 Cobra with 11,774 actual miles (saw them myself.. And the car was SOO clean you guys just have no idea...)

Auburn Pro Series
Moser 31 Spline
FRPP 3.73's
Downs diff cover
Cobra brakes

She's built good :)

And after I got home with it later tonight my buddy and I cleaned it up a bit and shot it with some paint

Went from this

To this

Thanks again Chris. Tim was a great and easy guy to deal with and I got exactly what I wanted!

Well like he said to me he's heard of guys that just oil up and go. I guess they're so filled with oil that it pretty much deflects the water. I dunno man for $350 you MAY want to give it a stab.. Or if anything have him take pix of the inside of the trans. I didn't even think to flip it over myself but after seeing that clutch I didn't think I'd need to.. That poor centerforce lol I've never seen a clutch look like that before. Salt water DESTROYS these poor cars when it hits them. The entire wire harness on the inside was gone because it was corroded so bad. I got lucky on the rear end that it was clean as a whistle.. Maybe the trans will be the same man. If I were you I'd say fawk it and try it out. If anything you can use the parts to help rebuild yours no?
