9 Sec. Street Car

Well I have been asked to post a video of my b/f's car, so here it is. Just to give a quick little reminder of what it is, it's a 97 Pacific Green Cobra with Twin 60mm Master Power Turbo's. He custom built the turbo kit, intake, tranny...he is truely talented! The car still has the stock block, stock heads, stock crank, and stock style cams (gt500 cams...almost exactly the same as the stock Cobra cams)

Since this pass he has now run .06 faster (do the math :thumbsup

p.s. Watch the rear end lift as he is staging Friggen Awesome! lol

BTW...in that video and every pass he's made in the car was on 275 Nitto DR's on 17" stock rims.....lol

I'm trying to convince him to throw some slick on it, but he is still hesitant. If he traps a 1.4 or 1.3 60', that thing would be in the low 9's, maybe even in the high 8's with that mph. Also, he is only on 17 lbs of boost right now. 20lbs it should be in the 150's...but don't think he'll be turning up the boost until he gets some safety equipment in the car.

He actually built it himself. He used to be the tranny specialist at Ford for like 7 years, so he also builds performance auto's. The one in his car is a Frankenstein that he thought up himself, and has recently had a couple customers of his wanting one also. So far we haven't heard of anyone else doing the combo he built. It's a 4r70 + 4r70w put together...so far it has held up awesome!

yea, hopefully I'll have some new vids here soon. He might be running true street up in Bradenton this upcoming weekend for NMRA...it'll be exciting to see how that goes!

Badass car...he's gotta be running a decent sized stall....I would say atleast 3200...probably 3800 or something?

What do you mean by 4r70+4r70w?


Did he swap the old AODE gear ratios in his 4r70?


Im assuming he rebuilt the engine with forged internals
