I was looking at my eBay cai and was thinking of ways to make it more efficient. I started with your standard BBK style CAI and cut it an inch from the mass air flange. I wanted to relocate my mass air to the fenderwell aka JLT style. I purchased a 90 degree 3.5 inch elbow from eBay for 7$ and a 6 inch long 3.5" sleeve from eBay for 8$. My main goal with the mod was to get rid of the nasty elbow in front of the MAF for the best MAF voltage readings. Here are a few pics of the setup! It's very easy to do yourself! And it will make more power than a "fenderwell elbow" CAI intake! I will have dyno #'s with this setup in a few weeks.

Thanks! The stock ecu is still learning. But the throttle response is ALOT snappier and I feel more low end grunt than before. The idle is light years more smooth. Only the dyno will tell on the real gains. The only difference in my setup over a JLT is the huge 4" pipe they use for a section of their kit. Mine is 3.5" throughout. I plan to bolt up a BBK cai then my custom CAI for the dyno test.

keep us posted as I am interested to know. I am not so sure that having so close to the inlet would help but would like to see.
