Forged can handle more detonation.

Tune your car correctly and hypers will last forever.

i'm not going to argue over a combo anymore, if a hyper piston is fine for you, no big nitrous/boost apps or an aggresive tune then run hypers, it'll be fine.

but if you're running nitrous and for some reason your wet shot fuel solenoid doesn't operate correctly, or your fuel pump doesn't quite deliver and you lean out, then it's game over. NO ROOM FOR ERROR!

so it's not just a tune, i think it's a little more involved than that.

it's your combo and goals.

i'm not using them, and will never use them again, but i want more power. my budget just hasn't caught up to my demand yet.

Personally I prefer forged pistons, but hypers are a hair better than stock, but if you're gonna do internals do it right and go forged.

also came with gt40 iron heads (they're stamped GT40 so give it a look to be sure), hyperpathetic pistons, valve covers say cobra, cobra intake, 24 lb injectors (blue), stock throttle body is still only 60mm (same as GT), and the block is a roller block. the block stamp is generic so you won't be able to track down where it came from exactly, only what year it was built like from 86-95 or something.

The block is the weak link.. not the pistons, UNLESS YOU ARE STUPID

The GT40 heads are stamped with a GT mark, not GT40.

There is nothing wrong with Hypereutectic pistons. There are actually advantages to them compared to a forged piston. They have much better ring seal and considerably lighter so they move a lot faster.
