hey guys my water pump is leaking now on my 94 cobra, well i believe it is anyways its a very small leak and theres absolutley no sign of exactly were the hell its coming from wich really sucks but i figured ill go ahead and do a complete cooling system overhaul and make sure she ready for summer. My question is were can a find a really good water pump like an edelbrock or somthing that will hold up to hard driving and very humid summers? ive looked at alot of different places but none are very specific to what year engines they fit. thanks.

holy jebus!!!

just get a new ASC pump from the part store. If you are REALLY concerned about it, get a factory pump... your original has lasted this long.. right?

its not a hose i checked them a million times, i was thinkin about the breather hole but i cant see were its located? what would cause it to leak from there? also it doesnt have a thermostat in it (i bought it that way) and it always runs in the cold area (needle normally start right before the "N" on normal). when you say the timing cover gasket, you mean the gasket between the water pump and timing cover correct? sorry for all the question but i havent had this car long at all and its my first time biulding and working on v8's though i have very good mechanical knowledge. thanks again.

well its not the original pump i know that and the motor only has about 40k on it since they rebiult it. and i dont really want a stock replacement, if i gotta go through it i might as well get the best parts and do it right.

A stock replacement will do just fine. A lot of people don't understand when engineers designed things they also designed them with people in mind that have no consideration for things and run them to hell and back. A stock pump with a properly operating Thermostat, radiator, and fan will keep the car cool. and be just fine.

i understand that, cuz they design cars to run 100k plus miles before major maintance, but does anyone know were the weep hole is located and why it would leakk from there?, cuz when it leaks its just little dribbles and doesnt do it all the time. actually once i got it home it wasnt doing it at all.

win nailed it.
If you look right above the harmonic balancer, behind the wp pulley. You should be able to see the little weep hole with coolant on it. You might need to use a mirror to see good enough..
I didn't know mine was leaking until I was under the car and noticed some coolant dripping off of the HB, after some looking I found the weep hole leaking.
Keep track of the bolt locations because they're different sizes, and you'll need some sealer for the threads too because a couple of them pass through the water jacket.
Get haynes/chilton manual and follow the directions.
good luck
