Hey,
So I have a 94 Mustang GT, AODE, 3.73 gears, bbk cold air and off road H pipe. The problem Im having is if Im at a light and I hit the gas wide open theres no get up and go... the tires dont even chirp...It doesnt seem to get power untill 3k rpm then loses the power at 4k rpm. Ive replaced fuel filter, spark plugs, wires, cap, rotor, cleaned the maf and throttle body. Timings at 10deg. I dont know what the stall speed of a stock converter is but it grabs at about 1400rpm. Im not expecting throw me in the seat power but I would like to be able to spin the tires a bit from a stop :angel4:
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Damn man you definitely have a problem, I was able to chip the tires with a bone stock AODE convertible most of the time. With 373s I was leaving rubber at every stop light lol. Is the engine throwing any codes? How many miles does the car have and have you ever changed the fuel pump ?

It has 152,000 miles, no ive never changed the fuel pump. The check engine light has never come on.. I work at an automotive shop and I usually scan my car once a week to see if anythings come up.. so far nothing =(
Do you think maybe its a problem with my torque converter or transmission?

If the fuel pump was never changed, you should try that. My car felt like a slug, no acceleration etc and it made a difference. At 150k miles, it should be changed anyway.

Ive been driving it around today and put in half a tank of 87 octane gas...I normally run 94 but the 87 seems to have helped out a tiny bit :dontknow:
I always thought a bad fuel pump would affect high rpm instead of off the line low rpms.. Why do you guys think its the fuel pump?

Power loss is one of the major signs of failing fuel pump. If your converter was having problems you would know, itd be banging in and out of gears and have trouble going in to lock up. With the mileage you have and the things you're describing, I'd bet its the fuel pump. Do yourself a favor and buy a 255lph pump if you plan on doing any mods to the car.
