Sounds like a distributor. The sensor in them goes bad it'll crank forever but not start.

Before throwing parts on you should do some diagnostics. For the engine to run you need air, fuel and spark. The talk about the PIP is but one of many things that affects spark. Lots of other stuff. Do a search on pulling the trouble codes or buy a code reader for about $25. It will save you 20 x's that from purchasing unnecessary parts.

can you hear the fuel pump running?
As already stated ck all of the fuses. under the hood and under the dash too. you could have blown one just by plugging in the battery.

Fuel or spark. One of the 2. Check spark by a plug wire connected to a tester or plug.

I would probably go straight to the distributor and make sure the rotor is turning.

Yea my fuel pump kicks on I hear it

When you first turn the key to ACC. the fuel pmp will run for a couple seconds then stop (prime). Then when you turn the key to start, the signal from the PIP inside dizzy will start the FP again and keep it running. That being said...
Is the FP shutting off after a few seconds, then is the FP coming back on after you turn the key to start?
