It does not have an aftermarket cam in it... Its all stock except 4.10 gears... I have not checked the egr but it only seems to spark knock at wot not part throttle anymore after i changed the maf... I am goin to check the egr tomarro and rite now i am running 93 octane and like 6* btdc with the stint out... I just dont understand what could be wrong but im not a ford guy neither i have never understood fords fuel trim stuff and even with vacume off the reg it still sparks at wot (duhh no manifold vacume at wot anyway) idk im just still stumped

If at WOT your knocking (pinging) ..this is screaming EGR System!!!..I would second the idea of the EGR not opening(stuck closed), when you pulled vacuum..did you test the whole circuit or just at 1 port?..Reason I'm asking is test the EGR circuit and see if it holds the vacuum(at the EGR and solinoid. I was fighting a WOT knock for a year till I tracked it down. My secondary air pump, think it was the solinoid or pump(anyways doesn't matter)..was cracked and leaking the vacuum which is on teh same circuit as the EGR System. I deleted the air pump completely and plugged the lines with think 10mm bolts(finest thread I could find that I had)...drove the car and fault was kinda still there at WOT. I smoke tested the car and found the smoke leaking through the fine threads of the bolts..WTF??. So I removed the bolts and filled the ends of the vacuum fitting with silicone..done deal, never kncoked again!!........vacuum...vacuuum...vacuuum..stop pondering around and check that EGR system

Welcome to the club! Some of you guys are acting like this is not common? WRONG. I battled pinging the whole 5 years I owned my 95 GT. Pinged with 87 octane from the day I got it with only 50k miles on her. There was regularly threads about it on the corral 94 95 section.

I tried: stock timing, new 02s, new MAF, new balancer, seafoam, different altitude calibration EEC

On the corral the consensus was that the biggest problems were too much timing in the stock tune, and poor head castings with hot spots. Some even switched to the Cobra EEC since it has less timing. Anyone with aftermarket aluminum heads says they can run 14-16 degrees just fine.
