Does the 95 GTS have the wiring to add electric GT seats to it? I know it didin't come with foglights but the wiring to add them is there. Just curious about the seats

FYI, some GTS's have the electric seat wiring

so, .... yes?

many people think they have "GTS" mustangs because their insurance tags say it, but in 99.99% of the cases they are mistaken.

is there a way to know for sure if i have a GTS the guy i bought it from said it is and i has manual.... everything (windows seats etc) and no fog lights but is the a character in the VIN that gives it away? the thing that confuses me is that it's got a factory spoiler.

BTW first post!! :eek:ccasion14:

The car I was asking is a true GTS. I guess I'm one of the .01% who know what theyre car is

okay, I feel obligated to clear some of this up.

first of all, black96gt... you don't have a gts, unless your sn and signature are not up to date. The gts cars were made in 95. If you have a 96 with similar features to a gts then you have what is known as a 248a package. Still very cool, and for the most part identicle to the gts.

second, there is no designation of any kind in the vin or otherwise to verify a car to be a gts/248a etc. There was just no such thing. I would suggest looking for smaller things such as a v6 steering wheel, unlighted visors, and so-on to determine if a car is a gts/248a car. Any number of options could have been added or ordered by a dealer. Thus, the reason you see so many different combinations with various gts cars. But most people wouldn't demand a different steering wheel or visors... something to think about.

third, I guess this was the original question. Some gts cars had power seats, others didn't. again it comes down to dealer options/add-ons.

Damn near every 94-04 Mustang came with power driver's seat. Even the v6s. Even if it is a GTS, 99% of them actually came with a powered driver's seat.

I'm not so sure 99% of GTS's came with power seats, I know of a few that didn't come with them. My car happens to be one of them. I don't have a single power option.

thoroc3, I appreciate you jumping in. You're right, mine is a 96 GT, my father-in-law has a 95 dark forest green GTS. He has manual seats, manual mirrors, manual windows (both of them), a manual trans, he must have a v6 steering wheel (it's not as nice as the GT wheel I have) and non-lighted visors. He bought the car from a kid in louisiana knowing it was a GTS. The original question was if a GTS had the extra wiring for power seats. After taking the stained tan carpet out I answered my question.

To clarify for all, here is the GTS I was asking about...

my 248a didnt come with a power drivers seat.

anyways, cool car. the only way ive seen someone determine if their car was a true GTS was a snop shot of the window sticker on the date-of-purchase.

and i do believe GTSs were made in 1996 as well, but i may be wrong. i went to the mustang source.com and they had a picture of a 1996 GTS in their timeline...

gotcha good deal. looks like a nice car.

here's a pretty good sight for a little more info, also has a small breakdown of production numbers.

My GTS (and yes it is a real GTS--I ordered it from Ford and have all the documentation to prove it) has a connector and wiring underneath the manual seat.

Shipping weight for my car was 3183 pounds. I got very few options: Pkg 248A (A/C and AM/FM stereo cassette), front floor mats, 3.08 rear (vs. standard 2.73), and rear defroster.

I've posted pics before. This forum no longer allows you to attach pictures, though.

Mine is DFG with black interior. According to the sales literature you could only get tan or grey interior with DFG, but the computer accepted the order. I built a Bullitt without realizing it!
