Hello everyone! I'm new to your forums here. I have a 95 v6 that I am going to turn into a GT. I already have most of what I need for the swap but the other forum I'm a member of wasn't being too helpful with questions.

What i have is a 91 engine and transmission both new, 8.8 rear, catback, T4M0 ecu, and a whole 91 parts car. What i need to know arr things like will the throttle cable work? Will i need to change over the belt drive accessories to the sn95 style? What all can I use from the fox?

I think the throttlebody/intake elbow on the fox can be modified to work, but stock for stock, they're different. I'm sure there's a thread somewhere on here about that. As far as transmissions go, the bellhousings/transmission are different on foxbodies. The input shaft of the T5 for us is 5/8 inch or so longer than a foxbodies. I'm not sure if there's any way to modify that to fit on our cars honestly. Try and do some searches on here, it's probably been explained in depth before by people with more knowledge than me.

The engine and transmission were together in the fox. So they are already bolted together.

Well, you can make it work using all the Fox stuff. But... electronics will be a crapshoot to figure out. I'm sure it can be done but you'll have some brain damage figuring out where to splice from the engine to the body harness. Using a 94/95 harness would be your best bet. On the front end accessories, I have seen guys use the Fox drive, but it will be very close to the radiator, you may not be able to use a stock fan. Remember the SN uses a different alternator as well. You can use a Fox t/b with the Fox throttle cable, I did it with my SN until I found a SN Cobra intake. You do need to splice the TPS 3 wires.

Also, the engine/trans in a fox is about 1" shorther than a SN. You could probably use everything as-is, but you'll have to put a spacer on your companion flange to make up for the 1", then your shifter will be 1" forward, and you may need to improvise on your trans mount and crossmember.

That's all I can think of for now.

Hmm, didn't know about the drive line being shorter. I plan on using the electric fan and the v6 alternator. I also plan on getting the correct engine harness since I already have the correct eec (T4M0)

Ya, that you will need because the injectors are in a different order on the Fox harness. The 1" comes from a longer input shaft in the tranny along with a longer bell. If your V6 is a T5, you may already have the parts to either transplant on the Fox T5, or just use the T5 from the 6. Then you can use a standard driveshaft without a spacer. The 8.8 from the Fox can be used as well, you just need to swap over your 7.5 axles and all the brakes/brackets.

The real issue is going to be the computer/wiring. The fox set up won't work with a lot of the SN95 stuff. Your best bet is get it all out of the 94/95 5.0L car - including the dash cluster, dash harness etc... The V6 to V8 full swap is enough of a pain within the SN95 body set ups. I can't imagine jumping on it from a fox starting point.
Are you doing anything to the 5.0L before dropping it in?

The engine has a little work done to it. Bored .60 over, b303 cam, crane 1.7rr, e7s ported 5 amgle valve job 2.02 intake/1.6 exhaust, titanium valves, bbk shorties, typhoon upper and lower intake, 75mm tb and spacer, high vol water and oil pumps. Also a brand new m7003z tremec :)

I had planned on getting all the correct engine wiring and gt gauges. Do I really need the dash wiring or is that optional?

My old 95 was a V6 to V8 swap. You dont need to change the dash harness or bodyharness on the 94-95 V6 cars IF you use the 94-95 V8 harnesses I will mention below,

OP, make your life easy by getting the complete engine side harness from a 94-95 GT or Cobra, along with 94-95 transmission, 02 sensor harness and the alternator harness.
You will also need a V8 cluster and a V8 ccrm module (although Ive heard the V6 one might work). All the wiring is plug and play. The only cutting you will have to do is the TPS harness as mentioned before IF you are using the foxbody TB.

You dont need the dash wiring. If you use the 94-95 engine harness and other harness I mentioned in my post above, you're good to go.

I already planned on getting a 94/95 engine harness when I could find one a little later. My ecu should be here Monday. I would really hate to give up my transmission being it's brand new. I spent $1500 for it at Late model restoration. So I guess I will need to find a way of making it work unless someone wants to trade me a new T56 for it (I know that's not happening lol)

Your transmission will work and will bolt up to the transmission crossmember. You may need that driveshaft spacer.
Here is the link to the steeda DS spacer: http://www.steeda.com/store/steeda-hardcore-mustang-driveshaft-spacer.html
