95 z28 vs me

I am going to race my friend this weekend it is a z28 with( mid headers, y pipe, catback and cai). Do i stand a chance aganist him. They both autos. Mods are in the sig

should be a drivers race really, ive raced my fair share of lt1 cars, and tend to beat most of them. had a run in with a cammed one tonight, had him by a car the whole way until i slammed on the brakes (he thought he won, but i thought i saw a cop) AND IM UNTUNED, pegging my maf uptop... they really arnt all they are cracked up to be... just race him for fun...

my friends 95 z28 has longtubes, k&n cai, gasket matched the intake to the heads, and has the stock cat-back, it runs 13.7 every time we go to the track

my buddy's got a 96 formula with a borla catback, cat removal, and a k&n and ran a 13.44 at 104.5, in late february, but hasnt been able to get outta the 14s any other time ive gone to see him run lol.

You shouldnt have any problems at all. Just drive it good and I dont see why you wouldnt be handing him his own ass.

I thought all z28's had ls1's :dunno: LOL I owned 1 for a half a day. We played pinks ;)

remember get him out of the hole.... I've raced alot of lt1's and their awesome off the line... If you can get him from a dig and keep on him you'll have no problem keeping him off you.. if he gets you then its harder...I dunno why but it seems like the power curve is steeper than our 5.0's down low. So get the hole shot on him and keep the car length til the end. If it was an LS1 you'd be a dead duck.

your gonna need quite a few mods to get equal to him even if he was stock but if you both have equal mods I will always give it to the LT1

hmm i don't get it... the 2 lt1's i know around here are way more powerful than that... one has just exaust, lid, k&n, and a cam and he runs 12.6/12.7 ... the other just dynoed his car and he has cams, intake, and exaust, Cai, and a tune and he is around 360/375 at the tire... dyno sheet proven :( i dynoed at 185 rwhp so i'm leaven it alone.
