i have seen some people with the 96-98 taillights do a mod that makes the inner vertical part of the lense light up with the other 2 vertical sections when the brake is applied. how is this done?

no. when you press the brake only 2 of the 3 vertical sections light up, but i have heard of a mod you can do to light up all three sections when you apply the brake.

I did it a while ago. I'll find the web site and put it here.
It took longer to empty the trunk than to do the mod!

yeah it always pissed me off they did that, they finally got it right with the 2010 stangs.

Yeah, I saw a 2010 Grabber Blue V6 pull in today at a restaurant and the rear actually looked really nice, the way it lit up and stuff.

its not hard... there's two circuits in the tail lights, one for the brakes, one for the turn signals, being why there are two filaments in the bulbs. just find the circuit that is for the brake lights, and run a jumper from the switched leg on the middle bulb to the inner-most bulb. piece-of-cake.
