hi everyone just had a trans question. i have a 96 gt with a 5 speed i just bought it a week ago and i notice something weird with the clutch. when i first start driving its fine after the car is driving for about 15 or 20 min the clutch becomes very hard to push the last 3 inches to the floor it feels like its almost stuck on something and i have to really push hard. Can this be a bad clutch cable ? help im stuck.

could be the clutch cable is frayed and get stuck in certain positions. Get under the car and inspect it for damage. Could also be the throw out bearing is going out.

Beat me to it, report back with results.

I routed my cable differently then stock anyways, i didn't like that. Keep it into consideration

re routing other than stock can put latteral friction on the cable, thus causing premature ejaculation from the protective housing. Just FYI.

Its not dramatically moved. A friend back in the day stripped out the firewall thread for it where the oem location is. so i had to scoot the mount over some.

If you need to replace it, use nothing but the 100% OEM cable. they're the best you can get. proven threw many threads.

OEM is the best, i agree. but in some occurances you need the adjustable one, which is why im rocking the steeda unit. not a fan of steeda, but their cable has been keeping me going so far.

Definitely a cable issue. I would get it replaced before it leaves you stranded as mine did a couple months ago. Haha replacement itself is not very difficult but if your a big guy then laying upside down in the floor board trying to get the end latched on the quadrant can be a pain.
