Ok if all else fails ask a mustang message board about an import. I bought a car for someone on the idea that he would pay me back but he didn't an the tore the car up so now I am stuck the the thing.

now i feel a little better. The car will not go forward and it's an auto. reverse is fine. The battery went dead so it cleared the codes and now the check engine light will not come back on. I would like to fix it and get rid of it or just get rid of it.

I'm not sure. I would think so but these cars seem to have computer problems cause the samething but no one seems to answer on the import boards. They all seem to be a bunch of fast and the furious kids, then the adults think they are to good to answer and only criticize spelling and grammer.

So nothing works in the trans EXCEPT reverse? D/N/1/2/3 or whatever else it may have? Nada? When you pull it into D, does it do anything differently than it does when in P?

I would start by beating the living hell outta that asshole. And then hold him upside down and shake the money outta his pockets.

Silly question, but have you checked the fluid and filter ? Low/old fluid or a clogged filter will cause the problems your talking about. The tranny should be warmed up when checking and on a level surface while the car is runnin.

Check your battery terminals to. But I would start with the pan and check for debris ,and make sure you fluid is still red.

I just keep finding myself wondering why you bought a car for a 30 year old
Was a friend that needed a little help and at the time I could. But I have learned my lesson about helping people (with money).

I believe there are two cables, one for the forward gears, one for reverse.
there are 2 cables...
pretty easy to check and change...my friend kenny had this happen on his eclipse a while
back but it was a manual....not sure if it's the same but maybe that'll help..
also look up www.slowboyracing.com friend with a gsx uses them all the time & their pretty good as well..
hope that helps some..
