All right. So the GF computer we think is her problem since it has an unknown sct chip that will not hold a tune.

I'm looking to buy a 96-98 cobra computer to replace it to see if its the problem. We chased down almost every code except for the computer which keep reading lean even with replace fuel pumps. It does have a stroker engine.

My question is, are the 96 to 98 computers all the same so its plug and play.

96-98 Cobras should all be the same. It could be just the SCT thing failed, as it's essentially a daughter card piggybacking off the OEM ECU (you can literally remove it by hand (powered off first)) and the whole car returns to original programming. Not sure if you can get an SCT chip for the older cars anymore though. Maybe something else took its place or maybe the EEC-V architechture is no longer even supported. Hard to say until you speak with a big name tuner like Palm Beach Dyno or someone. I have no experience with having an Teskid stroker but I've heard that adding stroker anything to the mix can complicate things.

Yeah the car has its gremlins but when it runs... it runs amazing. Ill look into removing the chip i thought it was a permanent install

98 Cobra has a different part #. Pretty sure AOL4(?) is the part #. Just had a different tune than 96-97.

Actually you may be right because some time in later 1998 Ford went non-return fuel and they did tweaks to the IMRC system (not sure what else though). I think if it's 98.5 and later, yea there's a good chance earlier 4v Cobra ECUs can't swing it. Can't be 100% though.
