98 cobra motor noise

I have a 98 cobra with 82K on it it runs great other than some motor noise which sound like a spun rod bearing or a bad wrist pin.The car makes the noise when you rev it,not at idle,and constantly at about 2000-2400 rpms.I am going to tear into this motor but would like to get some suggestions of what this noise might be.If anybody has any suggestions I am always open for ideas.Thanks for the help and you can email me here or at [email protected]
