Posting here to ask a stupid question...

Fog lights are inop.

Fuse, relay, brand new bulbs.

Buddy of mine has my multimeter.
So checking specifics are out for three weeks.

Now the light on the switch doesn't illustrate.
granted that's no sign of anything really.
My turn signals work when they want, so I grabbed a new multifunction switch from the junkyard.

Anyone think that's a good start?
Wiring was clean at both connectors.
followed them as far as I could, no frays or visible damage.

Will tear the center console this afternoon while swapping the signal switch. Ensure it's actually connected, May do the parking light mod as well.

Aside from buying a cheap multimeter in the interim, any thoughts?

KOEO and KOER low beams every time.
Considering my turn signals and hi beams work when they want. I'm slightly hopeful the new switch will aid.
or at least remove a spot
Like I said I'd start checking voltage but I loaned my tool to a friend who left state for the holidays.

it's not a huge issue, but now that I've sorted the engine and DTCs, I'm tackling unimportant hiccupps.

Does your horn work? Is there a relay where the fog light relay should be? I think its the 1st one.

Its probably the switch itself then. If you want you can use a paperclip as a jumper to see if they turn on.

Simpler than my plan. hahaha I was going to use small gauge wire.

I'll post results if the weather clears and I can go outside!
Quick question, do you know the exact difference between the 99-04 switches, they sell those, no 94-95.

Worst case I'll check the scrapyard.

Kudos for the idea.
Sometimes we get too close to the problem to think clearly!

Just be careful as I did something similar to check a trunk switch harness in my crown vic and I got some sparks lol. Youll have to check a wiring diagram first to make sure you jump the right circuit.

The only differences I know of are that the switch and console are the same 94-00 and the 01-04s are different. To my knowledge they are interchangeable. Good luck!

Okay unsure if it's wiring or the bulb. switch still doesn't illuminate.
But weather is okay.
pulled the cup holders.
found a yellow wire, went to route it, came right out.
looking at it, someone spliced the red/black pin with the yellow wire that ran the length of the center column.
I cut the wire back, wrapped em.
Boom lights.
had a theory since the red/black was sliced into.
I was right.

As long as the key is on, the fogs work.
parking lights or no.
It's completely independent.

Reverse lamps works, so I don't see any detrimental effects.

Basically the yellow wire was spliced into the red/black.

It's soldered now.
And working flawless.

Resolved!!!

We have had 40-65 mile winds plus dust so I haven't had much chance to play outside.
within 5 minutes my lights worked.
Another 2 for soldering.
It's buttoned up and looking okay.
lenses are 19 years old.
But lights work.

running out of "fixes"
May be about time to start modding
