Quick question. On a street strip type car. What throttle cable or solid system are you using. My car had eaten 3 cables. Car was originally a 3.8. So first time out used the stock cable with a lokar. Adapter. For Holley carb. Cable broke. Then went to a fox body gt unit. It lasted. 3 races. Now just ate up a Fox body carb cable. Even with a cage and subframe connectors. The engine torque and body twist are enough to cause issues. Any help is appreciated.

Uuuhhhhh........say what?!?!? I’ve seen some seriously built cars with some monstrous power and never break a throttle cable.

Let’s see pics of the engine bay and the setup.

It has solid mounts the only ones that work with early blocks. Running a victor jr intake. The fox body one just pull out of the clip housing. The gt one pulled the clip for the pedal. So asking what works because these have not.

I have everything from lokar to original equipment
Never had that problem
Even on my big block cars back then
Is your cable frayed at the ends that could be a problem

The last 2 were brand new. From local auto parts. The 3.8 original cable. Had to be cut and adapter put on to make work with the swap. It lasted 2 years before having issues. Do the 96/04 cables have the ball clip. And return spring as part of the assembly. One thing is the cable Mount faces a bit toward the drives side. Not straight out.
