Haha thanks rich! The red wire you see that's like 50ft long in the picture was just used on a test gauge outside the car and I didn't wanna cut wire to length just for a test gauge and waste my new wire lol.
This kit works with a alternator that's a flat face. I'm using one that's from a 1974 Ford F-250 302 got it new for 29 bucks lol. I think it does need a voltage regulator to turn it on and off I'm pretty sure !
I was using the V6 alternator from the 3.8 original motor in the car but that alternator from the V6 wouldn't fit with the new heads because it wasn't "flat faced" and wouldn't move towards the driver side of the car in order to get the belt on it was just hitting the alternator mounting bracket. I did use the old V6 alternator with those old GT40p heads but I guess the trickflows stick out a little more and the old v6 alternator doesn't fit in there.
The kit originally came with the little fan blade for the alternator and as you know the v6 3.8 alternator doesn't and can't use a fan on the front of it. So it was made to work with this kind of alternator. March performance actually was clueless on how I made the kit work with the old V6 alternator lol but they were like "hey if you got it working more power to you lol"
On the new alternator it came with a black fan when I bought it new and of course it was V belt so I just removed the V belt pulley and added my march performance serpentine one that I was using on the old V6 alternator on the setup before and I finally got to use my chrome march performance fan now as well. The alternator setup definitely looks better this way and you can tell it was made to work with the flat face alternator rather than the old 3.8 V6 kind.
