i have an idea looking through MM&FF. id like to take a notch fox or something as light. put a carbed 2v in it. it would have no a/c, no p/s, and manual brakes. Think no Power Adder, no efi. only thing it would have is tubed suspension and new control arms. weld prostars or something super light. all wiring stripped but whats absolutely neccassary.

im sure i can dig up a big enough carb.

i have my old 2v.
stock coil packs and plug wires.
stock flywheel and old clutch.
p.i. explorer cams.
t-45 trans and driveshaft.
mark 8 rotating assembly. pistons, rods, cast crank.
shortie headers and x-pipe.

what are the thoughts?

You don't want too big of a carb. You need to match it to your setup. To determine the best carb. for whatever setup you have (or plan on) use this formula: CID x Max power RPM / 3456. Then multiply the sum of that by your car's VE and that will equal the perfect Carb. CFM

Max power RPM is the max RPM that your motor will produce power. VE= Volumetric efficiency. Most cars nowadays are around 80%. Drag cars/race cars are easily at 100-110%. I'd use 95.

A friend of mine has an 01 with a stock pi engine, carb edelbrock manifold, built suspension, and a 150 shot running a consistent mid 10 in a heavy new edge. Throw that same set up in a fox and im sure you could squeeze high 9's with a good et and some fast shifting. haha

ive wanted to exactly that ever since i first saw the edelbrock carb manifold + ignition box. throw a 650 with mech sec and spend some dyno time to dial in the timing curve and id say itll be alot of fun

Well you might as well just get a built auto for it, then call it a day
