A/C control problems

Went to turn on a/c today and the air works but it only comes out the defrost vents :angry4: Is this electrical or knob problems? I need the ac back asap its almost 100 today. Thanks for the help

you seem to either have a control issue or a blend air door issue. Id have to check to see if they use a vaccuume set up, if they do id look for a vac leak.

Thanks, where do you get all this info from, besides the obvious internet, are there mustang specific sites that you use?

this is an all to common problem. its a stupid little pastic hose that heats up and breaks.

look in the engine bay, on the firewall where the connections for the heatercore are. there is a very small black plastic hose, this is a vacuum hose. it controls the a/c vent selection, among a few other things.

this should be plugged into the main vacuum tree of the engine. its either come loose or broken (prob due to heat). just either re-connect it or fix it.

i frikkin worked dude mine broke at the intake where the red now pink vacuum hose is. Thanks so much ur a sweat saver lol :notworthy:

haha, no worries. mine broke on me and i went a few weeks without it until my friends dad told me about that hose. thats an all too common issue, ive helped several buddies around here with that fix.

that plastic is so brittle! Not a well thought out idea, but i would have never found that hose if you wouldnt have told me where to look. Thanks again
