A Handful of Questions

I tried searching past threads but I couldn't find all the answers I'm looking for, so I'm going to throw all my questions here.

I recently got a set of FRPP C-Springs. I chose them because they don't lower the car as much as a lot of springs do and I can't go too low due to the steep entrance of my driveway. My shocks are just about ready to be replaced, so I'm figuring to tackle shocks/struts along with the springs. Here are my questions...

1. First I need someone to clarify this whole Fox VS SN shock/strut combo. From what I gather, the Fox ones work better for our cars when lowered, but I'm guessing that's only beyond a certain point, so what is that point?
2. Also a suggestion for a shock/strut setup? Adjustable is nice and all, but not a necessity.
3. Do I need C/C plates? I understand they're a great idea and every situation will be slightly different, but if it's not getting too low I didn't know if they would really be needed.
4. If I'm removing isolators to play with the stance a bit, how much of a change should I expect, and what's a good replacement to keep noises to a minimum? (I've heard electrical tape, bike tire tube...)
5. Other parts I may need to consider? (End links, etc...)

Also I am currently going through the forum picture database to see if I can find any cars with the same general setup, so if anyone can help me find some good pics of the stance that would be great.

Car is a daily driven '97 GT with ~88k with no other suspension mods. I am not looking for the most comfortable ride; I just want a pretty solid setup with a slightly lower stance and better performance. I've been given a few good recommendations, but now I'm seeking knowledge from the masses so any help is appreciated! Thanks!

1.-they increase the bump travel , youd be fine with sn95 struts-shocks..

2.- how much you want to spend? i have koni shocks and bilstein struts, it rides great.
tokicos seem to be pretty good, for the price.
3.- No, i doubt you'd need them.

4.- not much, bike tire tube works great if you decide to take them off.

5.-hmm, not really.. IMO..

Actually, SN95 shocks are suggested for both Fox and SN95s because of their extra bump travel.

I tried Tokico Blues with my Mach 1 springs and I was not impressed with ride quality at all. I made the jump to Konis, and it was leaps and bounds better than the Tokicos. All depends how much you're willing to spend.

Every car is different. When your suspension has settled over a couple weeks get it aligned. If it can not be aligned within spec you will need to put C/C plates on.

I needed CC plates and a bumpsteer kit to run properly on the street. Before getting the plates, I was getting an alignment alomost every 6 months. I really hate these springs to tell you the truth, only becasue I think they are too soft for the ride that they give. I also have Tokikko Blue shocks and struts, but I ran the stockers for years.

didnt i ask the op how much he wants to spend, a lot of people seem sto be happy with tokicos,
you prolly didnt like them, but every car is different and modded for a difference purpose?

i didnt need cc plates with prokit and all isos in.
i got camber bolts to get the isos out, until i saved enough to buy the cc plates

I have Steeda Super lites which are close to C springs. I needed cc plates (hoped I didn't but I did), I am also using sn95 struts and shocks (Tokico blues and they work just fine for me). I'm not using endlinks since there is no need for them in my car. My car is my dd so I left the iso's in.
This is how my car sat with those components (stock lca's)

First off thanks for the pics and responses. From this point on I didn't want to spend more than ~$500 but if I can justify going over that, then I will.

So I should be looking at SN shocks/struts...k I guess I'll have to look around. Any opinions on KYB?

I might just pull the trigger on MM C/C plates and then go with non-adjustable shocks/struts.

I'm not sure I understand what you're saying here.

Bumping this up because I don't want to make a new thread...

I just wanted some thoughts on what I've decided on, and looking if anyone thinks I'm overlooking something. A quick recap, I wanted a slight drop, and do a little replacing to stiffen up some of the suspension on my DD 97 GT...

Ford C Springs
Koni Str.t Struts/Shocks
MM 4 bolt C/C plates
Energy shorter end links

Possibly also newer lower a arms off a Cobra...anything else? Feedback is appreciated, thanks!
