Got a 94 GT I just bought. Dude man said he just recently had a new clutch put in there but his guy didnt adjust it. well, how do i adjust this blimey thing? clutch engages way to low.

Does it have a stock quadrant, cable, or firewall adjuster?

Fire wall adjuster, no. everything else stock i assume

If you have a stock quadrant... put you foot under the pedal and lift upwards. You should hear a couple clicks. No clicks means your clutch is almost worn out. If you have a billit quadrant... You can move the where the cable hooks then you'll need to adjustant the clutch cable from under the car because you have no FWA

is it possible the cable is just worn out and old. clutch cable, or atleast the thing i think it is seems to have slack just in general. when i pulled up on the pedal it just loosley gave and stoped where its desighned limits where to go. i think........

OK, i think i figure out what the quadrent is and it holds the clutch cable in the cab. it looks billet......I dont see how this is supposed to be adjustable there or at the fork.

fwa= Fire Wall Adjuster. If the quadrant is billit then you can't adjust it in the car (other that putting the cable on a different hook on the quadrant) and must be done with the fwa or at the trans by adjusting the cable.

There are no aditional hooks on the quadrent. there is nothing to adjust it at the trans, no screwey thing on the cable. there is no fire wall adjustment. im going to assume someone put on the qaudrent bit and nothing else....

that's wierd. It's gotta be adjusted some how. Did you take the little cover off on the trans?

That probably why you have so much slack in the pedal, You need either a FWA or an adjustable cable.

You think i would be okay if i just got a fire wall adjuster for now, or just an adjustable cable. just worries about things like length matching up. Id just get a whole nother kit but im realy aching to go hydraulic assist sometime after i get to georgia.

You can do either or both. I have an adj. cable with a FWA. Some have had problems with the adj cable stretching, I did too with my first one but no such problems with this one though.

I'd get a motorcraft cable and a firewall adjuster if I were you. You'd be amazed at how much a new cable can smooth out the clutch operation.

I said screw it and ordered the full steeda kit, cable, qaudrent and FWA. so as the clutch wears out, does the cable need to get looser or tighter?

as the cluch wears, the cable will get looser. The fwa it there to take up the slack without getting back under the car. But not to tight.

My steeda cable wore out after about a month and I had to get a Ford one.
