Hey folks. I need a bit of help deciding what I need to do next with my 96GT automatic with 130,000 miles. I just spent a few months fixing a bunch of issues I was having with the car: Swapped out my stock wheels with New Edge Bullitts, replaced my dingy headlights with Cobras, upgraded my bad front brakes to Bullitts, took care of some bad ball joints by upgrading to 03/04 Cobra LCAs, fixed my check engine light by replacing some fuel sensor, upgraded my stock catback with a Magnaflow, replaced my rotting steering wheel with an FR500 wheel, and did a bunch of other little things here and there.
My car is basically stock other than the above. A buddy and I installed some 4:10s on my car about 3 or 4 years ago, but left the stock shims on so it whines pretty noticeably when accelerating or coasting. Its not super loud (you can talk at a normal level over it), but its slightly irritating. The car is lowered, but only suspension mods other than that is the new LCAs.
Visually, the car is a bit of a mess, and I'll have to take some photos to show you all. The front bumper is cracked on the passengers side. This happened when I rolled into some pipe sticking out of my parents yard some years ago. I bought an unpainted replacement bumper years ago, but never installed it because I was waiting till I got the car painted. The paint on the car is a mess. The hood and front fenders still look fairly decent, but the back of the car is going from red to hot pink. The passenger back quarter is actually going from pink to white. The driver seat is shredded and it literally being held together by Gorilla tape. When I got the brakes I failed to paint the rotor hats, so they're a nice rust color now. The door light flickers on and off when I have the bulb in there, and so I need to replace the switch that goes in the driver's door.
Overall the car isn't the prettiest, but it runs clean with minimal squeaks and, as far as I can see, no major issues. Here's what I wanted to do with it:
Install a CAI
Upgrade the throttle body and plenum
Install a Parkway Performance PI intake manifold
Install an O/R H-pipe
Add wheel spacers to the rear wheels
Acquire Mach I or Bullitt seats
Get a Cobra R hood
Car painted and new front bumper installed
Install new 4:10 with new shims
Any advice on where to start? Other opinions?
Thanks
