I currently have a 98 GT with the mach 460 system. I am swapping my stock cd player to an 04 mach 460 head unit. I have new speakers that I would like to put my new speakers in, 6x8 components. First question, how difficult would it be to bypass the mach 460 and run and aftermarket amp on a stock deck, or should I just use the stock amp and just install the new speakers in their place? Thanks for the help.

Just curious, why are you wanting to run a factory headunit?

I honestly don't know how you would run a amp with the factory headunit, but for some reason, I want to say that I've heard of someone doing it before....

i like the factory head unit from the 99-04 better than almost any aftermarket one, they all just seem more complicated and tacky looking, although i cant remember seeing an aftermarket head unit in a SN95

Ah I see.

And to go on the looks thing of aftermarket headunit, I agree 100% on most of them looking tacky. One of the main reasons I ahve mine is the fact that it isnt TOO "look at me, I'm shiney and stuff". Its a very nice headunit.

BUT ANYWAYS, There is some little something for hooking it up and I cannot remember for the life of me waht its called. Ugh, it'll hit me in a few days when I'm no where near the computer...

Ugh... I havent really looked at them much but I want to say they go off the signal to the rear speakers or something and put in RCAs or something? Dunno about the remote wire... Someone on here works at a car audio place... maybe he'll know. I want to say its CanaryGT, but I could be wrong...
