Okay, I have mine into the thermostat housing, and when it reads 218F my low speed fan turns on, which tells me my car is really 208F when it turns off at 198F my guage is reading at 208F so that would mean my aftermarket guage is exactly 10F too hot than the car actually is?? Could this be a ground issue seeings as how the sending unit is in the thermo housing versus the intake manifold? my question can i ground the thermo housing to correct this?

You may be wrong on your assumption about temperatures. The Ford Technical Service Manual says the low fan comes on at 221* and stays on until the temperature falls to 200*. Your gauge readings are close to this.

god that makes me happy, your my hero today bra! so as long as my car is running 221 and not climbing higher than that i'm good to go! fan ****ing tastic, closing the hood and opening a beer

actually, then my guage or fan must be off, cuz the low speed fan turns off after dropping the coolant temp 10F, it will turn on at 220 and turn off seconds later when it hits 210, at least at idle in the garage.
