Aftermarket fuelrail/lines ?

My question is...At what point do the stock fuel rails and lines need to be upgraded? I understand the need for larger injectors, fuel pump, and regulator but does the rest of the system max out at a horsepower rating, engine size, or injector size. I broke my stock fuel rails and am trying to decide if I should just replace them with OEM or go aftermarket. All the (aftermarket) kits I have seen simply state that "with larger engine combos more fuel delivery is needed." However, they do not state what their fuel rails improve upon compared to stock. Just trying to put my money where its most needed instead of wasting it on something that does not need to be upgraded.

rated by horsepower. simply put, at some point the pump is pushing too hard against a restriction (small lines) or the injectors are so big they drain the rails/lines and don't allow time to refill between firings.

I was going to comment that the point the fuel lines need to be upgraded is after the block itself needs to be upgraded. Most people (myself included) just did the fuel rails/fuel lines for the appearance of it.

One word of warning...don't do a fuel rail/fuel line upgrade too soon...it's going to require a big pump, and those big lines/rails are going to hurt drive ability of your setup a bit if you're not making the power to use that fuel. Also, spring for the expensive stuff - the Summit brands and the braided crap leak fumes, makes the whole car smell. Go with the push lock stuff, big names Aeroquip etc.

not necessarily. most rails are an thread and they make barbed fitting to an adapters. that's a stupid ass way of doing stuff, but it can be done.

The rails themselves (depending on Brake Specific Fuel Consumption - BSFC) are typically good to about 550-600 rwhp. The lines are typically a little less than that.

I have aftermarket rails because they look neato.

Correct me if I am wrong but, don't 94/95 fuel rails flow slightly better than fox rails?

Block is a BOSS block. Jim at Fordstrokers should have it ready for shipping in the next couple weeks. It is already paid for its just the rest of the stuff that I need the cash for.

i wanna get aftermarket fuel rails and bring the fuel lines in from the back of the motor. so basically just flip them around. has anybody done this and is it easy? i have looked and it seems like it shouldn't be a problem.

Yes. I usually feed through the back of the passenger rail, crossover at the front, attach the FPR directly to the back of the driver side rail, and send the return back to the tank from there. This setup is fine unless you're making lots of horsepowers.
