Alarm question

If I dont have factory alarm no box in trunk can I still buy an aftermarket kit and use the unlock feature for doors and trunk

ask around locally about shops that are good with alarms. Try to find one that solders their connections and will stand behind their work. The alarm is important but the install is 2x as important....

I would probably do it myself just so I can get idea of whats going on and how its all tied together and everything as you said is together right

well then do some reading up on 5-wire-reversing polarity doorlock systems. It is probably the most difficult system to integrate into and what our mustangs use. You will have to first find the correct wires, but then also diagnose the master/slave switch, wire the relays and then insert them correctly or you will blow the door lock circuit.

Security is honestly 3-4 steps above installinstalling a deck and some speakers. It requires not only more technical knowledge(better know relays upside down for example) but also different techniques to diagnose the correct wires. The final reason to take it to a pro is because a great alarm with a bad install in the best case will just leave you with out your stereo wondering why the alarm didn't go off, worst case is that it could strand you somewhere needed a tow....

Sorry to thread jack this but I also do not have a factory alarm or aftermarket for that matter. Is it possible to get an OEM alarm system? or an alarm system that works the same way as the OEM alarm? Meaning it uses the horn as the alarm and it doesn't beep or make any other annoying sounds?
I need to get an alarm but I want one as close as I can get to OEM. How much would it cost to get an OEM alarm or one close enough to it?

the wiring should be there for the stock alarm, if you can find parts for it is anyones guess. I have had alarms in the past that hooked up to the horn but have not been installing them recently enough to know if they are still avaialable or what can be found. Most modern alarms do have a mute option where the arm/disarm chirps are disabled.
