Lately I’ve been in AM and simple things or things I used to see on there are gone. Examples are bump steer kits and BBK long tube headers.

Do you think they are getting away from our gen and moving more towards the new models/challenger/truck scene?

On the flip side LMR and Cj pony parts have been spot on with no issues.

I have had to cancel 2 orders with cj's in the past 2 weeks after ordering what they said they had in stock only to discover an email 5 days later saying it was on back order. I waited over 2 weeks to cancel each order and then LMR was good to ship in a day or two.

There service sucks
I have ordered parts and I get one guy telling me they have to have it come from another warehouse they don't have it
That's happened a few times already
I don't deal with them
I have told the manager your digging your own grave treating customers like this
No not knowing where the parts are
Not looking to see what is being shipped out

Good points. I’ve never bought from CJ so I just trusted their website.

My go to way always AM and LMR. Lately it seems AM just doesn’t carry anything.

I’ve only had one screw up from LMR. It was pretty massive of a screw up too but they made it right and then some.

Lately it’s been summit, rockauto, Amazon, and LMR. Just shocked to see what happened with AM. I wonder if they just tried to grow too much too fast.

Kind of like how I used to use TRS for my lighting needs and even they seem to be lacking.

I am not sure but AM lost me
I think there selling stuff that they don't have
That's why I say
One guy told me it's in another warehouse
Ya someone else's warehouse
Then these guys tell you it's on the way in transit
It's not it's still sitting on the floor at the other warehouse
They think I'm pretty stupid
But I got them figured out

Our cars are neither new nor classics (despite the 25yo rule). I have noticed that a lot more parts have been discontinued and removed. Sadly, most companies are like this. I am scared to death to drive my car because all my aftermarket body pieces have been discontinued. They got more and more expensive, then they stopped carrying them, focusing more on newer mustangs. But they have the molds right there (unless they destroyed them for some reason) Could they not be made to order? LMR carried my interior color paint, that they clearly obviously made/mixed themselves, but then stopped offering that color. I understand that there are now even FEWER 94-95s with red interior than in the past, but why is this not made to order too?

I was irritated because LMR had a brand new 94-95 taillights. I was going to order them in January as I wanted to wait until finances settled as I spent an insane amount over the holidays and simply wanted to make sure I still had plenty to play with after paying everything off. After waiting a month, they were gone. Discontinued. Ain’t no love for a 26yo Ford.

Another factor is the Coronavirus. Like it or not, a lot of the parts for our cars are built elsewhere, and with the disruptions to international shipping due to coronavirus shutdowns around the globe, getting stuff is more difficult. Just try to order something on Amazon these days. What used to be on your porch the next day is now sometimes weeks for delivery.

I've got some deals on parts from AM over the years. I never considered them an enthusiast site but just a middle man moving parts, so expectations were low.
Most of these companies drop-ship from the manufacturer or a central warehouse and don't physically have the parts in their facility. If their computer tells them that it's in stock, they assume it is.

Yeah I am not a AM fan. Coyotes are the rage, there is no denying that. I dont'e see why they wouldn't follow the money, they are a business. No longer carrying parts falls here. It costs money to keep things on the shelf. Why have a box of expensive newedge SLP headers on the shelf that move once a year when you can fill that space with a set of coyote headers that move all the time. It sucks but so does getting old hahaha.

Screw that! These are classic mustangs! Is there not a business that caters to this market? People don’t restore classic mustangs anymore?

I did stumble on a place a lil while ago that has a lot of NOS stuff for SN-95'S and Fox's as well as clean takeoff's for hard to find parts. I've not used them for anything so I can't speak to how they are to deal with, but it's another resource that we may be able to use..

http://performancepartsinc.com/

Hope they can help someone and they do turn out to be a good resource.

I am not affiliated with and do not receive any compensation from this company...

They may have things, if you contact them. But from the looks of it, the specialize in the rare hard to find stuff. Special edition mustangs are more likely to survive or have a reason to be restored, but due to their rarity I can’t imagine them selling much. I’ve used these people several times during the duration of my ownership:

Basically the same deal. You pretty much have to contact them and ask. But note these are used parts, as it’s basically a mustang scrape yard.

I have purchased a ton of body pieces from abcexclusive, a local shop. But even they have given up making pieces, which seems odd to me. How do you discontinue a product? Did the mold break? They literally make them there in house. SN95s ain’t getting no love!

Another place I found but they are supposed to be the largest Mustang salvage company out there if you are looking for something in that kind of thing and they do shipping as well is

https://prestigemustang.com/
I've looked around on their site and they do have a lot of parts but do bear in mind they are a salvage yard but they also have a lot of good take off parts..

Just a thought, as long as say LMR is still our sponsor for example, if there are parts some of the other guys sell but they don’t we could come together and suggest we carry the part. I’ve made suggestions to them before but they said it takes so many people asking for it to bring them in.
