Another IAC question

so I looked online couldn't find anything that matched what mine is doing 96 gt with a CAI, 70MM TB, and yesterday car had the high idle stepped on the gas it came down, but when I take off and drive again it stays up around 1500 or so, last night heard a strange noise so I opened the hood and the hose that comes from my CAI to the IAC was making a buzzing, vibrating noise, my question is, has my IAC going to crap on me its has a black cap on it if that means anything, I just don't want to replace parts hoping to find an answer thanks for any help, also when I unplugged my IAC the motor died

It sounds to me like the IAC has run its course. I would go ahead and get a new one. I didn't know it but I had a spare one in my trunk that i had bought just in case. I guess its THAT common of a problem.
