alright, so from what i've gathered through search and reading random posts, the explorers 5.0 manifold flows quite well as compared to the stock one on my gt. but, search couldnt answer all of my questions as i do not know exactly what is required to swap out my fantastic 5.0ho for the more efficient explorer. iif someone could offer me insight as to everything that is needed to swap it would be greatly appreciated as the intake is pretty restricted for me at this point.

as a side note, i was recommended to just take the 94 95 cobra intake as opposed to the gt40 or explorer, but from this site it seems like the explorer performs almost as well for cheaper. are my assumptions right?

im currently driving her home to s.e. iowa from rediculously hot palm springs so i dont have any engine pics on hand, but i can get some tomorrow in case anyone needs to look at what i have right now in order to help me with my hunger for air. (its a little wierd, the guy i bought it from did some odd stuff, but it works and she made it flawlessly through the mojave desert at 2 in the afternoon :)

thanks in advance for all the help and im sorry that i couldnt quite fully understand the already present intake threads. :dontknow:

ok, all you will need are gaskets and a throttle body elbow for the swap and you will need to plug some of the upper intake vacuum lines also. Just check where you take vacuum lines off the stock intake, you'll need lines off the new intake. here is the elbow:

also, the cobra intake is a little more expensive but it is more of a direct bolt on and in my opinion it looks a whole lot better. I'll have a polished one for sale later this week with a ported lower if ur interested...
