Just bought a 99' Mustang w/V6 auto a week or so ago and looking for info on the car. Looks like Ive got lots of reading to do here. The car is in pretty good shape overall but does need a paint job. Laser red and it's faded pretty bad.

I'll hit the classified to see if there's anything I can buy.

I used to have a 98 in Laser Red, its a beautiful color! It sucked when it came to repainting it because its a 3 stage so its hard to get it right. My 07 is the same way but I was lucky with both when it was time to paint.

Im wanting a 3.8l mustang as well. I can score tons of parts on the cheap with craigslist and i think building the engines would be rewarding. That underdog aspect has my intrest high.

This is not my first Mustang or my first 3.8.........I've had two Fox bodies (80' with an I6 & an 81' with a 2.3) and an 84' LTD with the 3.8.....I plan to paint the car with a single stage flattened enamel (as near to Laser Red as they can make). Then some black accents to add a bit of "pop". A set of dual exhaust (just not sure about the approach to use), a cold air intake or a K&N type filter if the air box looks un-restricted. Maybe a tuner to play with the shift points, FA, and timing.

Just want to make a fun daily driver as this wasn't the car I was looking for..........I wanted one of the first version of Foxes to drop a larger V8 into. I just putz with vehicles for fun and keep what I like...........I haven't kept many.

Sounds like how my dad was. Man had the money to buy whatever, but what he wanted was a cheap lame car that he could tinker around with. Not really fixing up to improve selling price. Just tinker around.

Yep, that's me............just want something to play with and keep occupied. I only got one key with the car and bought a blank off e-Bay and what a sticker shock I got when I called Ford to get it programmed. $56 just to program a key? The blank wasn't too bad but come on Ford..........why won't one existing key reprogram a second one?

Thanks for all the welcomes.............went salvage yard shopping today and didn't have much luck. Still need an air cleaner clip, and the triangle panel that covers the mirror on the drivers door.
