well i got everything set up, distributor set for tdc, a spark now, and fuel pump running, giving out about 5psi for the carb. Getting fuel into the bowls and able to squirt some out when i go wot, but i'm still not getting this engine to fire! going to try to get starting fluid in the morning, just can't think of anything else at this point. i've got spark and fuel, but no fire :/ and air of course lol. anyone have any ideas of what to check next? i know i have good compression also...
any carb gurus in here?

does it even attempt to start at all with the pedal mashed to the floor? did you buy the carb new or used? could be the idle mixture screws on the sides not adjusted correctly.

If its not hitting at all you need to go back and double check your timing. Sounds like it is way off to me if you have fuel and spark. Might want to bump up your fuel pressure to about 7 psi after you get it fired up, It will lean out at 5. I would not hit it with starter fluid either.
well i was FINALLY able to get it to start up, but then i had to stop it quick and my battery was too dead to work on it more lol, plus i had to leave to go back to school :/ but at least it ran for a few seconds!!!! its a demon 650.
