Any one ever had this happen?

So I was driving down the highway today. Get to a point where I can get around to pass someone, drop it into 4th and get on it. Next thing I know I hear a loud bang come from up front from the motor and I see something fly back from the rearview mirror.
I let off and pull over as soon as I can. The car still ran fine though??
So I pop the hood and eventually notice something was not right..
The front half of my harmonic balancer was missing.


Anyone else ever hear of this happening?

I had mine go bad but not like that lucky thats the only thing that happend

i wish min would popped like that, mine separated from the hub and shook the entire damn car. though it is a 5.0, i was lucky that it happened in the driveway!

Yes I am glad that was the worst of it and I was able to drive home. Now with 114k on the clock the little stuff is beginning to wear out..
