anyone ever painted this?

The clear plastic lines bother me from some angles.. did anyone ever try to paint the upper parts of their headlights black? :dontknow: Just brainstormin'

I've thought many times of doing this. Looks good. Although, I would use high temp paint. The housings get pretty warm after some time with the lights on.

I think the problem is that you do not have the headlights all the way in the header panel (which holds the front end correctly). It's a sweet idea but if you just want that part of the headlight covered you have to screw the taps on the headlight in more.

Thus messing up the aim of the headlights. Just aim them properly and do the tape/paint method. Electrical tape with an exactoknife/razor blade will take you far.

If would probably be a good idea if you are running HID conversion. It would not give off as much glare.

If the edges of the headlight & the side marker don't match up though, it looks crappy there. Mine are flush with the side markers but the upper surfaces of the h'lights show some. Every '94-'98 SN95 I've looked at is like this.

not nearly hot enough to need high temp, you'll be fine with a standard automotive grade paint

Did this a couple of years ago after when i saw 69clarks car like this. He actually gave me the strips of black vynl that I used to do it.I think every set of lights should be made this way. that top piece just dosent look right without it.
