Thing doesn't work since I got the car and knowing the time wouldn't be such a bad thing while driving.
I took the thing apart and It looks pretty good so could it be a fuse? This is pretty common on these cars or so I heard.

I would like to know also, my neighbor has this problem. He said if I can fix it he will pay me $20+ depending on how hard it will be.

I thought it was something stupid like just cleaning a contact or re-soldering a cold solder joint or two. I would give it to him and then the next time he wants to borrow your weed-wacker or a ratchet that it is $20, maybe more depending on how long it takes and how much string he uses.....

I went out and cleaned the snow off of my neighbors driveway as they are elderly and can't do it, and I am currently fixing a bike for the other. It never occured to me to charge him as I know it will not be long before I ask them for some help. It could be something stupid like a jumpstart, a push or a ratchet bit that I am missing but sooner or later it helps to have carma on your side....

I think the literal translation from canadian to american of"I want to keep it local" means,"I do not want your stanky amercian POS tainting canadian soil, EH?"
