Had the transmission in for less than 500 miles. Started knocking and was driven home. Figured I would baby it to and from work (it was a 3 day week) so I could pull it apart that Saturday. Tried to drive it that Monday and it was going nowhere. Pulled it apart yesterday and this is what we found...

we think this somehow broke off and caused the damage

Cool man. Get a Tremec.

too broke to get one right now and I don't have to access to one because I'm in Japan. For now I'm replacing what's broken so I can drive it and ship it when I PCS to England next month.

I wouldn't have it any other way. I swapped out the slushbox less than 2 months ago

Ouch! I bet finding parts over there is hard

nearly impossible. I have to order parts from the states but since I have to use USPS i'm limited to 70 lbs and 130" length and girth per package. It made getting the transmission over here interesting and is why the car doesn't have a t45

That looks similar to one of the T5's that took itself out in mine. Atleast your casing was damaged from yours doing that. I had to get a new one, cause it broke the back shaft cover, well cracked it pretty good. Mine started with a TB going out though.

Good luck on getting parts.
