None of that should effect the length the cable needs to be. They are all direct replacement parts, just more heavy duty.

Either you have a fox cable, or you need to try it again. Are you SURE you routed it correctly? If you go the wrong route with the cable, it'll be too short. I've seen it before.
Do you have the firewall adj screwed all the way into the firewall, as far as it'll go?

stock quadrant, stock cable, stock firewall unit.

Ive taken it off and put it on 3 or 4 times and dont ever remember having a problem like this before... maybe ill take a look at it tonight... i dono. lol. i figured it was the clutch....

From the firewall.... through the k-member above the point where the steering shaft goes into the steering rack, long loop then up and over the powersteering rack, and straight shot into the bellhousing. Make sure there isn't any kinks or sharp bends in it.

I bought one from autozone. I installed it, and it wouldnt go into gear... So I tried adjusting it and rerouting it a couple times and still wouldnt go in gear... so I was like wtf... I took it back out and realized that is was like 4 inches longer than the other one... I was so pissed! I took it back. Called Ford and they said $180 and they had to order it. I said f*ck that and went to advance auto parts, they had it in stock for 50 bucks, installed it and works perfect =)

the steeda one is the same as the summit racing one... i just put the stock one back in... i used steeda's quadrant thought, because putting the stock one in is a son-of-a-bleach..... . . :angry4:

anyways, the steeda quadrant lifted my clutch pedal up too... lol. i personally like the new position...

anyways, stock cable FTW.

calling steeda today to mail back their crap... it was even used.... its dirty... i mean... seriously?

mustangchris, the problem you were having with your cable not reaching is because you probably forgot to release the tension on your stock ADJUSTABLE quadrant
