I don't see why you would need to modify anything to use those

i've never heard of having to modify the crossmember for any subframe regardless of year/make.

96-98 use a bolt in cross member. The brackets that it bolts to actually bolts themselves through the subframes up front. So essentially when you go to weld the SFC's on, you find out there is a big bracket in your way on both sides. I just ordered a set of MM's. They advise you to cut the tabs out of the way and weld the whole bracket to the frame. Then place the connector on top of it and weld the notch tabbed portion to the side of the brackets. In a sense, you are just welding your cross member brackets and braces to the SFC's and getting rid of the bolts.
