Auto meter tach ?

Does anybody have any idea what color wires go to what on the autometer 5" tach? my car already had it in it when i bought it and it is hooked wrong the button that is supposed to show you what rpm you have your shift light coming on at actually lights up the whole tach while i have to set my shift light when i first begin to start the car. i have no background light in the tach at all because it's wired to the shift light button. if you can make any since of this tell me what you think thanks
