I am looking for a picture of the shifter area of the trans tunnel from inside the car of either a 5 speed car or one that has been converted to 5 speed. I am in the process of cleaning up the floor pans before I reinstall the interior. I noticed that the trans tunnel was not cut but rather dented up in order to allow the t-5 to fit. Well this makes it so you have to pull the trans in order to change the shifter. I would appreciate a picture so I can get an idea of what I need to do. I am also trying to figure out how the lower shifter boot attaches to the trans tunnel. Thanks for your help.

Believe it or not, Ford put different floor pans in auto and 5-speeds. The only mod that you need to do is make the hole were the shifter comes through a bit bigger. usually you have to trim the up right hand corner and the lower right side for it to work. As for the shifter dust boot you can take 4 small self taping screws and screw it down. I have done a couple of auto to 5 speed conversions so if you have anymore question let me know and i will help as best I can

Will I be able to clearly see whether or not the trans crossmember is from a manual or automatic. I heard that you can modify the automatic one but it isnt as good as an original manual one.
