yes swap the ecu and tranny harness. since you have a 94 that doesnt use PATS, the ECU will work without needing to reflash the computer

I bought a '95 with auto to 5-speed conversion. The way this guy before me who I bought it from got it done is, the clutch pedal stick outs more than the brake and gas pedal. I don't know if that's how its supposed to be but it's just not natural...

I think the next one I would be interested to buy would be a 5-speed from showroom.

I would suggest selling this and buying a true 5-speed stang.

my clutch pedal sticks up higher than my brake pedal....might need to use the self adjuster on yours if its not...

For the orignal poster...yes make sure you swap the ECU as stated before it doesn't use pats so that makes it easer..but another reason you need to change it..we just did the swap on my friends 94...and he didn't have the 5 spd ecu. The computer wouldn't let the car rev past 5200

you have a willing donor car so it should be straight forward. the non obvious piece you will need was already mentioned (neutral safety / reverse light harness)... it is different on auto / manual cars.

there are a couple of harness jumpers that are in the auto car so you will have to move them too. on the foxy body there are two. one for the nss at the clutch pedal and the other at the gas pedal for the cruise control. it might be different on the sn cars but im not sure.

the hardest / time consuming part of the swap is going to be getting the pedal assembly out. finding another pedal assembly for the 5 speed would save you a lot of time. its only one car you need to rip the dash apart on. for the current 5 speed car that is going to be a auto just take a 18mm box wrench to the nut that holds the clutch pedal on and take it off.

My buddy swapped his 95 gt aod for an 89 T5. He bypassed the clutch safety switch and a few minor details. The biggest issue he has is when he knocks it in neutral the auto computer makes it die.

If your car is tuned, you don't have to swap the PCM. All you have to do is pull the chip and have the tuner disable the Automatic code.

It has been done numerous times. Do a search on here the exact code has been posted before.

Yes, I have done this for people, you turn off the auto code. but since the other guy will need the auto computer to operate the trans, and it would be simpler for you to have the manual computer, I say just swap it out and be done with it. Don't dog on someone giving you a good deal. Help him out a little more in return. JMHO.
