axles and gears

Hello all, I am rebuilding a mustang gt and turning it into a cobra. I am going to put the 4.6 termie motor in it and a t56 tranny. I was wondering if I should go ahead and get new gears and axles while I was at it. I seen wldtang's build thread and he went ahead and upgraded his. I would like to get this thing running by the time I am 40 which is in 7 years. Any info would be great. :TY:

Pick up the IRS while you get the engine. :thumb:

Yes you need to upgrade.

Also why add an IRS thats is just 100+ lbs heavier than a solid axle.maybe for looks but thats it and i think is cheaper to beefup a solid than an IRS.

buy an 03 cobra 3rd member, moser axles, aluminum diff cover, 3.73's, and be done.

Make sure you get it done sooner, things get a damn site heavier and harder to do at 40.
