ok so i been looking into strong but also lightweight axles for a 99-04 8.8 rear end...non abs...i was looking on summit racing and they have summits version of a chromemoly axle 31 c-clip style...now i know chromemoly is very strong and light...my ? is...and may be also very simple as a yes or no...but would this be a good idea for over 400 rear wheel hp...and launchin hard?? only reason i guess im asking to see what you all say is that were all soo used to seeing forged steel...and forged alloy type of axles...which in some cases is heavier then chromemoly obviously...but i saw these and they seem like a good deal cheaper then forged steel axles 2 by a lil bit...

heres the summit racing ones link http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-700127/

or would an alloy steel be a better choice (link) http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ALY-12189/

honestly...just from what i know bout chromemoly i think they would be a better choice...but when it comes to axles just getting the opinion and thoughts....let me know guys !! ;)

if they are 31 spline axles then they will work great. unless your putting down serious power like 400+ though i dont think they are needed at all.

nah save the money you are spending on the split port and just get the heads ported and bigger valves. Port the intakes and you will be all set. I did it with 60# injectors, 255 walbro pump, 61mm turbo and 20 psi. A sheet metal upper and bigger tb will help you get there as well. The key is to make the combination work with the least amount of air restriction which is measured by boost!

at least you have a plan!! I was just sayin that the single port and split port stg 3 heads only flow a 20cfm difference. Which isnt sh*t in the scheme of things. What are your plans for a transmission?
On those same heads i just recently made 601rwhp actually, my sig is old and needs to be updated. I could have made more if i went with a 4.2 stroker but i didnt. Still running a 3.8, forged of course. Its not always about being the biggest motor or the biggest ports, its about making your combination all come together and work as a team. I use the dyno as a tuning aid. The dyno i go to has proven to read low... my track numbers is the only thing i car about.
I do wish you luck with your build and c your posts quite often on v6power! Keep us posted man!

Cant wait to see you go well above 600 and well into the 9's. also if anyone is interested there is a fairly good supercharger discussion going on on 3.8 in the thread "vortech discontinued"

a t-56 is an involved install on our cars. a very involved one. and i believe he used the stock block. since the block itself has yet to fail.

it will be harder than what you think. and a bellhousing will be expensive. but it's doable.
