Would i have enough back pressure if i got a Magna-Pack cat back. My current set up is LT headers, O/R X-pipe and 1 chamber flows dumped. Hell i know i cant loose anymore torque.

OK Im no mechanic but this is how I understand it. Backpressure keeps flames from burning the seals on your exhaust valve guides. But I have also read you do not need backpressure.

on most cars some backpressure is neccessary.

+1, im not in depth on this, but i have heard over and over at the shop that you have to have it to keep power levels up

so how much is enough???

I think in general you just should not run open exhaust meaning no catback and such. As long as you have full exhaust from headers to mufflers I think your fine.

yea this pertains some guys running open headers where backpressure would be almost none. If you got a midpipe and mufflers you're good/

With a full exhuast you should be ok... I've got a buddy not running any mufflers, but has cats, if he takes the cats off, I would reccomend to him to run mufflers, just something the air has to flow through, something to break up the straight flow through...

I would say it all depends on your intake modifications to really determine how much exhaust you could go with. Now we all know how restrictiive the stock intakes are on the 94-95s so I'd say LTs, no cats, and straight through mufflers is making you loose torque.

yea i can notice i've lost torque but i'm trying to get a set up to work with my wallet so that's why i got the LT"S 1 3/4 beacue of future mods. i think i'll get the dynomax bullets and just wait until i can get my edelbrock rpm package.... thanks for the replies
