Battery blanket/cover

saw a cadillac recently and the battery had a insulated blanket/ cover on it. i'd like to get one for my car, seemed like a good idea and i wouldn't have to look at my battery any more. is there somewhere i can buy one for a mustang or should i just drop by the cadillac dealership?

ford sells a nice battery cover. its a solid plastic unit with insulation on the inside. I'll sell you mine, if you would like.

if you want aftermarket, any Jegs, summit, autozone, checker, will sell them.

I mean its nice, but i dont want the name "steeda" under my hood when nothing else is steeda on the car .

How does the Ford one looks? If the OP doesn't want it ill buy it. (only if he doesn't want it) Not trying to steal any deals. Just an FYI.

I've never seen an OEM battery cover I liked, I threw two ford ones away already

As for the steeda one, good luck trying to get that to work with our top terminal style batteries

Instead of covering my battery up I went with better looking terminals

Once this battery starts to go I will replace it with something better

I too upgraded both the terminals and the cables and was suprised the very next show that I was complimented on them.

Personally for me. Im not into modding or how the engine bay looks to be honest. I just dont like the color gold much and im not under my hood much either. Just for that rare (pop the hood) i dont want to see a gold battery

wow i can't believe all the great responses. Chris and Duh, i would love to see pictures of yours. the one i saw that i liked was just made of a soft insulating material but if Ford makes a hard plastic cover with insulation inside that sounds ideal. would be happy to purchase from one of you. . .

also it was asked why not put it in the trunk, personall i do not want some 15 feet of live wire running through the cabin of my vehicle.

As long as everything is fused there is nothing to worry about.

The cover I thought you were talking about was whats actually called a battery blanket. Its a warmer(thus the blanket name) I misunderstood your objective.

so do they make insulated covers designed to protect the battery from engine heat? honestly i just liked the aesthetic but if it works that's even better. as long as it doesn't make the battery hotter. . .
