My 96 GT needs. Belt tensioner installed. It’s a 4.6. Need to know the difficulty rate for installing 1-10 and how much time.

Just did one on my '00 not too long ago. Once you get the belt off, it's just one bolt to get it off. Im a poor judge of difficulty to the average person however. Maybe a 2/3 out of 10?

Would recommend getting a motorcraft tensioner and not an aftermarket. That's why i had to replace mine. Bought the car with an aftermarket tensioner on and it was making a high pitched squeal

You have to take off the coil packs. That’s 2 bolts and the tensioner has 2 bolts

Get them hands dirty playa. Like stated, a pretty straight forward job. If you have a few basic tools , shouldn't be too bad of a time.

the hardest part is probably finding the right combination length of extensions/bits for your ratchet so that it reaches the bolt yet is not either stuck in the fan or buried to deep where you can turn it.

Make sure you get the right tensioner. Ford used 3 bolt and 1 bolt. Also, tensioner thickness. Take your old one with you to match up.
