Bent rim

Ok So a couple of months back i bent one of my cobra rims and havent been able to find another. Today for some reason i decide i want to fill it with air and see if it will even hold. My tire was like sunk in on a few areas from where i hit the hole.I went and filled it today and the tire looks pretty much brand new its all round no messed up areas. It was leaking air slightly from where the inside of the rim is bent. So i got home and took it out of my trunk and found that it wasnt leaking any more and has been at the same pressure for about an hour(33psi), i took some soapy water and poured it on and little bubbles were slowly popping up from that area. So i took a sledge hammer and a metal rod and tried to re-bend it, which was a major pain and i dont think i did much. But i tested it again and no bubbles are forming now. I was wondering does anyone know how i could bend the rim back more? Its only bent on the inside .

That is what it originally looked like when i went and filled it up today. I guess its not bent down as far as i thought cause it was still holding air well before i started beating with a hammer.

Lol i was thinking the same thing im going to let the rim sit in my garage over night see if it stays at the same psi and tomorrow put it on the car and let it sit for a while with the weight on it and see if anything happens, then if that looks good i will be brave and take it for a spin i guess lol.

i would not drive on that.. even if it does hold air when your go cruise around real fast, think if your going 60 on the highway and you hit a pot hole on that tire.. it will probably bust it and you will go into a wall.

definitely not trying to be rude or anything man. but if you can't find another wheel, have it sent off to be fixed possibly?

good luck on finding a new wheel or getting your problem solved.

No you dont sound rude at all i was suprised it even held air in the first place, it kinda concerns me as far as what the limitations would be on it if i could even drive on it it really wasnt leaking very bad when i filled it up i filled it to about 37 psi and could hear the air leaking so i put it in my trunk went to the store and stuff and got home about an hour later and i couldnt hear the air leaking out of there and checked the pressure and it was at 35 and poured some soap and water on that spot and there were a few little bubbles but it was at 35 psi the whole time i was trying to pound on it to fix it. Anyways once i was done pounding on it i poured more soap and water on it and no more bubbles were coming out. I just got home and checked and its still right about 35 psi. Still im kinda weary about driving with it.

Mine seems to be holding air pretty well the only time i heard it leaking was when i first filled it up really full once i pounded on it a bit no more bubbles were coming out of it and it has been at the same psi for about 4 hours now. Where is your rim bet at? Im will probably put it on tomorrow and see if it handles the weight of the car.

I will post a pic of what it looks like now with air in it and now that it has been pounded on a little, do you guys know how i might be able to pound it out a little better other than using a sledge hammer and a block of wood or just the hammer cause thats what i have done so far. Or anyone who has one of these rims laying around and needs to get rid of it lol.

Don't do it man, it's not worth the risk. Buy some V6 rims for now if you can't afford anything else. I's not worth your life or your car, nevermind anyone else that might be in the car with you. It might work but on the other hand bad bad things might very well happen.

Even if you bend it back, that thing is gonna VIBRATE,there's no amount of wheel weights that will make that right. :hammer:

my bend is as bad, if not worse than his, and my tire guy balanced it to where i can barely tell unless i'm on a perfectly smooth road.
