Best Exhaust?

Hey everybody. I'm about to pick up my dad's '97 GT. It's a beautiful car, and I'd like to put some money into it in the form of wheels, minor interior upgrades, an intake, and exhaust. I've been looking at exhausts and have narrowed it down to two: Flowmaster's American Thunder or a Hooker cat-back system. I'm looking for what everyone else is, sound like Satan with the power to match. So guys, which is best, or is there another exhaust I should be considering? I'm a relativity poor high school student, so the most I'd like to spend is about $350. Thanks!

cant go wrong with the flows for budget exhaust :thumb:

Flows do sound nice. If you get a mid pipe, get an H not an X. Xpipes have a raspy euro sound. Hpipes have a deeper muscle sound.

I get the feeling that you just want it to sound nice, and flows will do just that.

Yeah, I kind of want a raspy-r exhaust note, something Bullitt-like, as my profile picture would suggest. I am very happy with the friendly and helpful community here. I've been a member for all of thirty minutes and I already have four replies to my post!! :TY:

I lke my x pipe with my flows! It sounds smoother then when I had the H on. Some peoples sound like shit clanking and breaking when they start up their car with H and Flows, mine does not sound like that!!!

video says i have headers but i dont. just flowmaster 40s and an h pipe.
only problem about flows is the drone you get at low rpms. but other than that there the best bang for the buck
